WSSA Bylaws - Article IV

 

Section 1

Membership in WSSA shall be as follows:

  1. REGULAR:
    Eligibility shall be based on employment in a municipal, county, state or federal or private human/social services agency, institution or organization which administers one or more programs prescribed by, or regulated by, state or federal statutes. This shall include members of county and state human/social service boards and citizen advisory committees and previous employees of said agencies who had been WSSA regular members for at least one year or associate members for at least three years.     1. There are annual membership dues. These dues may be adjusted at the Annual Business Meeting by a majority vote of the members present ignoring abstentions. 10% of the dues will be returned to District Associations.
    2. Regular members are eligible to be elected to and vote for all offices and be elected to or appointed to committees.
    3. Regular members are eligible for all publications and benefits established by the Association.
  2. STUDENT:
    Eligibility shall be based on full-time student status in the human/social service related fields.

    1. Students are eligible to be appointed to ad-hoc committees and to receive all WSSA publications.
    2. Annual dues are one-half the regular membership.
  3. HONORARY:
    Those persons who have previously been regular members and are awarded life membership based on past involvement with the association.

    1. Honorary members shall have all the rights and privileges of regular members.
    2. No membership dues are required for those holding only honorary life membership.
  4. AGENCY:
    All municipal, county, state or federal human/social service agencies, institutions, or organizations, which administer one or more programs prescribed by or regulated by state or federal statutes, are eligible, and shall include regular membership to agency director and up to three others as designated by the director.  (Amended 6/17/11)

    1. Agency affiliation fee may be adjusted at the Annual Business Meeting.
    2. Agency members shall have all rights and privileges of regular members. (Rev. 6/01)
  5. ASSOCIATE:
    Any interested individual not eligible for regular or honorary membership shall be eligible for associate membership subject to approval by the Executive Committee.

    1. Annual dues are one-half the regular membership. (Rev. 5/27/93)
    2. Associate members are eligible to be appointed to ad-hoc committees and to receive all WSSA publications.

Section 2

  1. Memberships shall commence July lst and expire the following June 30th, except for Honorary membership. Memberships that are paid as part of the Conference fee shall commence on the first day of the Conference and expire the following year on June 30. (Amended 6/14/12)
  2. All money collected by the WSSA for dues shall be allocated as needed, in accordance with the budget recommended by the Finance Committee and approved by the Executive Committee.
